NEKO WORKs previously launched a crowdfunding campaign on KickStarter, an American crowdfunding website, for the production of an OVA animation for its love-making game Chocolate & Vanilla. The crowdfunding campaign has now ended, raising a total of $963,000 (about RMB 6,635,100), setting a record for the highest amount of KickStarter animation crowdfunding.
The minimum goal of the crowdfunding of "Chocolate and Vanilla" on KickStarter is $100,000, and a 20-minute animation will be produced when this amount is reached. After that, for every additional $100,000 in fundraising, the animation length will be extended by 10 minutes. If it can reach $500,000, the animation will be 60 minutes long. If the crowdfunding funds are more than $1 million, the animation will also produce additional mini-animations. However, as of the end of the crowdfunding, it has not reached $1 million. It is a bit of a pity. However, the official also stated that after the crowdfunding ends, it will continue to raise funds through other channels to raise $1 million. This means that the official also intends to make a mini-animation of this work to give back to the gentlemen's love.
